Tons o' tapirs: "Buy a gift, save an endangered species!"
Tapir Preservation Fund
Sheryl is President of this nonprofit corporation. Tapirs have been Sheryl's passion since 1968, and maybe before that (her mom says she was fascinated by a young tapir at the San Diego Zoo as a child, but she doesn't, unfortunately, remember this). In the late 1960s/early 1970s, she Robert Wilson raised two of these endangered animals, formed the Tapir Research Institute of Claremont, California, and published some survey results that are still cited in zoological publications. You can learn more about the Tapir Preservation Fund, its mission and goals, here. And you can learn lots more about tapirs (and see their beautiful pictures) in The Tapir Gallery. We appreciate your interest!
So, what the heck is a tapir? (See below.)

Looking for books, videos, games, software, music CDs? Check this out. If you buy from Amazon.com starting with the search link below, a percentage will be donated to the Tapir Preservation Fund. This money will help save endangered tapirs AND their rainforest habitat. AND, if you wonder why we have to work so hard to promote this important animal, just try using "tapir" as your search word. We and the tapirs thank you!
